Just a pretty picture in Denali, which is so empty and so captivating. We went in about 30 miles by bus, which is the end of the paved road and the last point for private vehicles. There is a shuttle bus which travels the full 90+ miles, stopping to let off campers, hikes, back-packers, etc. Permits are very controlled with as few as 8 for a 20 acre site. There is no commercial development in Denali National Park. Climbers attempting McKinley are flown in from about 30 miles away.
