They generally didn't cone the route, but until we got near Austin (within 20 miles, probably), there wasn't much traffic to deal with that didn't have to do with the ride. By this point, however, there were cops at every intersection, stopping cars or stopping us along the way. I think earlier in the day, when there were more people on the route, both the shoulder and the lane would have been used.
