After we landed in El Calafate, we were worried we would have to take an expensive shuttle to town, and if we were particularly unlucky, miss the last bus to El Chaltén, thus necessitating an night in El Calafate, a cancerous growth at the edge of Lago Argentino. But as luck would have it, there was a bus company at the airport and the one shuttle of the day left only an hour after our flight, and there were two free seats. Awesome! The guy who sold us our tickets was really nice, and then when we went out to the bus, he was also the driver. I love this country!
