So apparently at one point European settlers introduced rabbits and beavers to the island, and now both run rampant, destroying vegetation and in the later case trees at an alarming rate. I think the government actually pays a Argentine Peso $20 bounty (about $6) for a beaver pelt. Jay saw one beaver, I didn't. But we saw plenty of rabbits, and plenty of beaver dams.
