Some foutains outside the vast underground shopping center Okhotny Ryad. Apparently this is where soviets used to go stand in line for bread. Not really what I pictured. I was amazed to wonder just how far you could make it in this city without ever going above ground, which I guess makes sense as it must be miserably cold in the winter. The pinnacle of underground Moscovian travel is of course their Metro which has over 150 stops and at least 10 lines, making it I believe the largest in the world. While not pristine, it is kept up, with marble-walled stations and ornate columns, bridges connecting platforms and vast interior spaces making it quite beautiful and captivating to walk through.
