Monica, arriving at Canyon Lodge for lunch. Mammoth has 5 base areas, all with food... the best deal on the mountain might have been the salad bar. $8 for as much food as you can fit on a plate which included really really fresh potatoes, cheeses, fresh olives, pita, hummus, mexican black bean salad, cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, etc in addition to more normal salad stuff. Monica and I were able to split one for lunch, making our meals cost about $4 each. Way better than your average $10 crappy hamburger at the resort.
