On Sunday, Lydia was able to take the afternoon off from studying so we took the rental car to the North Shore to see the sights and get some shave ice (shaved ice with fruit syrups, azuki beans and ice cream). What should have only been an hour or two's drive took most of the afternoon as we stopped at scenic overlooks, beaches, food stands, and farms.
