A view south toward another crater and in the distance Hanauma Bay, a state park and nature preserve with excellent though far-from-pristine snorkeling. As is fairly plain from this vantage point, Hanauma Bay is also a crater from an ancient eruption that eventually was filled by rising ocean levels.
