Looking down the eastern side of the mountain range into the jungle and cloud forest. This drops from nearly 5,000 meters all the way down to 500 meters in just a few horizontal miles. Most of the Parque National Natural Del Cocuy is actually in the jungle at less than 1,000 meters above sea level. It is very dense, very remote, and until very recently very inhabited by guerillas.
