So this whole incident requires a back story: Upon eating breakfast at Daido and Carmen's little house in La Capilla, I decided I would go on a day hike to put some thin air in my lungs. After a little bit of walking, this fellow (pictured, with my sunglasses) caught up to me, and explained that he thought it was too dangerous to go hiking without a guide. Instead he said I should come with him and he'd show me some interesting sights. So, he took me to the top of a small hill and instructed me to take some pictures (which I did, you saw at least one of them). Then he introduced me to his platoon, all camouflaged into the hillside. Basically, I think they were just bored and were excited to talk to a foreigner and a native English speaker. I probably spent 4-5 hours talking to these kids.
