  • No, this is all sedimentary limestone. I don't know too much about geology, but from what I understand, limestone is mostly calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and it is easily eroded by water, especially if the water is acidic, which is why you end up with a lot of limestone cliffs and caves.

  • And the rock itself is actually relatively sharp... my fingertips were pretty much numb at this point. Though, many of the hand and footholds on busy climbs were polished smooth from all the traffic.
