This last rappel was a little tricky because it required clipping to a directional anchor midway down the rappel. The reason for this is that if we followed the natural fall line from the rappel station, we would be deposited on top of a small but powerful waterfall, and directly below the waterfall was a recirculating flow that required several strong strokes to escape. Actually the recirculating pool was fun to play in, since it wasn't very big or strong, but the directional gives the option of avoiding it.
