John, at the end of the rappel. I decided to just stay connected to the rope and pull myself across the pool by pulling rope through my rappel device. The rope had already gone down the next falls which was holding it rather tight which was making it hard to disconnect, since I was using an ATC which is better suited to belaying while rock climbing than rappelling.
