One more shot: I couldn't resist. I love the way the glacier snakes down the slope like a river. And it sure does look like that lake didn't used to be there. The way the rocks I had been sitting on were smooth (unlike most of the talus and scree around me) it seemed likely a glacier had polished out the basin where this lake now sits.
