Wow. This looks way different than it did 10 minutes ago. My hunch about the tiny little cave wasn't far off at all: now it is much easier to see into crevasses lurking in the middle of the glacier. I'm sure glad I got across this safe. Would have been no fun to have something like this collapse while I was walking on it.

I don't think so, but I have no idea. It was a (relatively) hot afternoon in August, so if there was a time for the glacier to calve, this was it. I think I just got lucky.
