Joel, happier to be carrying a light pack. Our peripatetic itinerary had the advantage that we were able to leave most of our heavy climbing gear at the car and hike up to our base camp with just water and some rudimentary supplies. Then, on the hike back out, we were only burdened with our camping gear and leftover food which made our packs weigh less than half of what they weighed on the uphill slog in on Thursday.
