The colors in this canyon were quite spectacular: gray stone and green moss, with sunshine and shrubs all around. Here Joel leads the way through a number of small potholes, while Andy and Mike (center) and Monica (right) follow. The water in this canyon was actually very cold because of our elevation and the dark rock and forest cover above. Our guide book recommended wet suits even the peak of summer and warned of hypothermia. But for now we are just getting our ankles wet so no need to suit up just yet.
