Mike Joel and Andy had stopped to strip off some layers (which I had done earlier) so I took the opportunity to trudge ahead at a leisurely pace, leaving them to catch up at their slightly faster pace later on. This afforded me the opportunity to be totally alone while walking through this particularly beautiful section of narrows.
