About here is where we caught up to "Bo" and his group of 12 clients. We had encountered Bo at the permit office that morning, engaging in some petty corruption with park officials to get a permit allowing him to bring presumably paying clients down Pine Creek Canyon. These 12 dunderheads were well in need of instruction though maybe not Bo's. This gentleman pictured doesn't so much as have a hand on the brake line of his rappel device. He is literally being held 100 feet in mid-air by the belay of a guide at the bottom of the rope. It was a bit scary to watch. Later we'd pass Bo on the trail back to the road, except he was on the wrong trail to where he had parked his vehicle. Bo also told me I was lost and didn't know where I was going. Bo doesn't know canyoneering.
