Party is beginning to thin at around 1am, but the band and dancers at the other end of the block are still going strong. I finally left around 1:45 or so, I wouldn't have been surprised to learn that the dancers and drummers stayed until the sun came up. There was police presence for all but the first hour or two, which was only a positive addition to the festivities. They parked their cars almost a block away to redirect traffic and then just sat and watched even as fireworks were going off and hundreds of bottles of champagne were being uncorked.
