Joel, on the 100 ft rappel, hanging his bag from his harness for better weight distributions. For most of the rappels we would toss our bag to the bottom if the rappel looked sufficiently awkward to merit having no bag in the way, but throwing a bag 100 ft even into water would probably have not been good for our dry bags. That said, I dropped my bag maybe 70 ft above the water anyway. It made a very loud noise impacting the water.
