All I remember about this caterpillar which Mom and I spotted in the middle of Death Valley at around noon (temperature over 100 degrees) miles from any visible vegetation or shade was Mom saying "I sure hope he knows where he's going". Two German tourists who we thought didn't speak English laughed, so I guess they knew some English. I wonder what ended up happening to Mr. Caterpillar.
