The living area where they performed. They "swapped" their old smaller place with an old woman who was living here - convinced her she would be happier with less space to take care of.

  • The whole issue of "owning" your home. The govt owns all housing and everyone is entitled to a home. The previous "owner" had lived her whole life in the house. But our new friend somehow talked her into moving into a smaller place - and then got govt approval for the move. They then renovated it to become a B&B. Modern bathrooms and kitchen. Where does the money come from? In their case - as musicians they get to keep 90% of their "reported" earnings. They went to Canada and were paid $ 6000 for a gig. That is about 25 years normal Cuban wages.
