Most houses appear to be poured concrete or cement block. The windows are shutters - no screens. The shutters are usually metal so when closed it must be dark inside. From our observation they use fluorescent lights inside - harsh but low power consumption. We never learned where the sewage went or how handled as we doubt that they have treatment plants. We did not see any outhouses.
