Cool looking tree. That one in the link has needles though, this looks more like a succulent or cactus, right?

I looked at it "blown up" and see what John says about succulents. At first glance I thought they were evergreen needles. Hmmm ... need to get that ap that you hold up to a plant and it is identified.
