On Monday morning we drove into Arches National Park. Monica had spent the day here on Friday but I had never been before. First stop in the morning was Owl Rock, a 110-foot sandstone tower that sort of appears to be made of of compacted mud. There is a popular 5.8 route to the top. Here is Monica standing on top. The grooves in the soft sandstone are from lazy / ignorant / scared climbers who instead of climbing down from the top lower their partner on a weighted rope. Sad. Not visible from the base however.
