Originally the ambitious plan had been to drive to Tahoe Friday after work and (since it was a full moon) embark on the (relatively) easy 4 mile hike under moonlight. However, an hour of delays + traffic + exhaustion from the last trip had us spend (way too much money) for a bed-in-a-box hotel room in Truckee. Saturday's forecast had been for rain after noon, so we got a somewhat early start hoping to miss most of the weather, but still were treated to dramatic skies.
