Castle Crags State park had a river that surfaced through the lava tubes of Mt. Shasta. Underground water supplies that surface are neat for hikers because the water doesn't require any filtration. There are spooky factoids about how long this water typically has been travelling to get here since being snow/glacier on top of Mt. Shasta. I believe it is usually measured in hundreds of years. In any case, very cold tasty water.
