An hour has passed since the happy joking smiles. Remember: this trail is only 2.9 miles one way. A 20-min mile should not be hard. Yet that joking picture was taken 45 minutes off the summit, and this one is still a ways from the car. Downhill was aerobically easy, but muscularly difficult (and rough on joints, too).
