Hrm. More snow. This snowfield (with trail across it) turned us around. Steep on one side and slippery all over, it seemed unwise to cross just to make the summit.

  • Huh. Have you ever seen those straps you can put on our sneakers with some screws/spikes. I think they sell them at REI, not too expensive.

  • Yak Trax, I think they are called. I have seen them; unfortunately, we did not have any with us. People were definitely still crossing, but the smart ones had crampons or Yak Trax, ice axes, and hiking poles.
