We saw several rocks that had these star-shaped scars in them. It looked like something that could happen from the explosives they use to clear boulders, but I didn't see any with the typical drill holes that are also normally common... Any other ideas?

  • Looks like blasting. Hole usually has the dynamite in it so if it worked the hole usually gets destroyed.

  • Yeah, but I've often seen the hole away from the actual blast -- where they have drilled to put the explosive. The rocks have half-circular tunnels in them.
