It's amazing to me that we are allowed to stomp around on this place. Museums won't even let you lean against the wall!

  • An interesting aspect is that much of the recent infrastructure was done by the CCC in the 1930's - both here and at many of the parks that we visited. I refer to the paths, stone steps, cleaning out the dwellings, museums, fire towers, etc. They did a great job.

  • Mesa Verde was probably the most different (and interesting) place that we saw on this trip. Never had been there before and didn't know much about it. It helped that we had spent about two hours in the Anasazi Cultural Center in Dolores CO the day before.
