What is the material these 'rocks' are made of? And how far off the beaten path are you that something like this goes unnamed?

Wingate sandstone. A relatively hard type of sandstone from the Jurassic or Triassic period. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wingate_Sandstone
There are 1000s of cracks that have been climbed in this area... not all of them have names (that the guidebook author knows of). The cracks 4 feet to the right and left both have names.
