The nearly straight cables at the center left run all the way to the ground 200 feet below and are used to control the lean of the tower. I think Carol said the tower is currently leaning half a meter one way or the other to compensate for the yet to be attached spans on either side.

This caption reminds me - this project was effectively started in 1989, which means it has been done in metric units. Too bad the US abandoned that transition...

Yeah but the real question is what is the angle of the tower in roofer units? I think it's 600 feet over half a meter.
