Monica on the final stretch of pitch 4 of Nutcracker (5.8). Nutcracker, originally named "Nutcracker Sweet", was first ascended (and named) by Royal Robbins who enjoyed punny names. He named it thus because it was one of the first climbs of its grade ascended using only removable "nuts" or chocks as protection, without resorting to the use of any fixed gear such as pitons or pins. We used lots of cams and I probably only placed a few nuts, in part because the beta told me to bring a bunch of cams and that seemed to be all I needed.
