That's the high desert for you, I guess. We're getting close to 11,000 feet in this photo so the effect is the same but more extreme. Honestly it reminded me of climbing the eastern face of Whitney with Joel (which was above 14,000 feet). As soon as the passed behind the mountain the stone temperature just plummeted until we had to warm our hands in our pockets to keep the feeling so we could climb. Climbing in gloves would have only been worse.
