Note - all blue bars on the right are off. John did an incredible job of nursing the car home! As for me - I kept planning strategies when/if we "turtled" or ran out before home. John's confidence and skill got us there. In a show of hubris - John did turn on the A/C full blast for the last mile. A real First Class experience.

So Dad, what else is being shown on your control panel here?
— Catherine Hovell
There is a lot here. Left side is the battery heat gage. The arc of circles - the circles to the right light up to show how much power you are consuming (to nurse the drive, John kept these to a minimum); to the left show power being regenerated when you slow or brake. Far right shows battery capacity - it can degrade or fail over time. Missing is a row of blue/white bars showing power remaining. I have 2256 miles on the car; 71.4 miles on this trip (we did not set it till we were already on the road); and we are in Park.
— Peter Hovell
So your "fuel gauge" if you will is just the digital countdown on the right? The far right is more for the lifetime of the battery rather than today's charge? I like how the power-gain measure is HUGE, congratulating you on helping out.

A little miscommunication, I think.
The white and blue bars to the far left are battery capacity (not to the far right). It actually is a very large display that won't change much for years and not much you do can control it ... it's sort of a battery health measure. The "fuel guage" or range in miles is on the right. It also has large blue and white bars that display how much charge is remaining in the battery ... they are not visible in this picture because there is nothing left by the time they got home. Normally they would look something like the battery health bars on the left. The circle of dots has a 'mid point'(slightly left of center with a little line under it) where you are neutral ... as dots light up to the right you are expending energy ... dots to the left show you are generating. Hope this helps

Actually - there is normally a "fan" of blue/white bars to the left of the white/red battery capacity arc. The bars tell you the amount of power left in the batteries. The digital "4" is the calculated mileage that that power can drive you - if you keep driving in the same manner (ie, speed, up hill/down hill, aggressively, etc) This calculation changes the distance often - so it is only an indicator not a true gage. You are correct about the far right white/red arc.

Oooh okay okay. I definitely misunderstood where the regenerate icons are; I see the little circle of arrows now. Very neat!
— Catherine Hovell
Not quite! The battery capacity, that is SOH (State of Health) is the thin bar at the very far right. The left gauge is battery temperature, which would be more clear if the photo were more clear: the icon at the far left is a battery with a thermometer stuck in it.
