The mural is spectacular! I agree - I like the houses painted all different crayola colors. In Nova Scotia the govt promotes this idea.

Not many trompe l'oiel murals that I can remember. The bright colored houses are a cheap way to spruce up an otherwise drab neighborhood. I think several former (and current) communist governments have made efforts to brighten up their tenement blocks with bright paint jobs.
