Yang, concluding there was something wrong with his binding toward the end of the day. What is it with snowboarders and their bindings? They seem to always be having trouble with them.

  • I think a big problem is they're adjustable - ski boots have those certain settings, and you set them up and then do the same thing every time. Snowboard boots/bindings are different every time you put them on, and if you don't do it "right", you're unhappy.

  • Snowboard bindings always struck me as looking like a mechanical engineer's undergraduate class project. Not a very precise or repeatable system indeed.
