After Yosemite, Joel and I returned to our ditch camp from the night before, spent another restful night and awoke early for the drive to the Plumas National Forest where we were meeting Vinnie, Yang, and Monica for a labor day weekend adventure in California's version of Appalachia. On the drive up the eastern side of the Sierras en route to Reno, we took a short detour up CA-108 to see the finale of a very difficult canyon nestled high in the Sierras.
