Driving down from the 9,000 ft Onion Valley to Independence at 4,000 ft. Joel and I discussed the merits of building a 20 mile tunnel clear under Kings Canyon National Park, starting at Seven Pines, a few miles from where this shot was taken to Road's End, the terminus of CA-180 in King's Canyon National Park. It would shave 4+ hours off our ride home.
