Climbing back up to Kearsarge Pass. We were passed by a woman who was dragging her husband up over this pass every day for a week straight so that they could climb Whitney at the end of the week. While this training regimen struck us as bizarre as it must have been unpleasant, not to mention unnecessary if almost counterproductive, they were really good at it, and flew by us. I guess we did each have 30 lbs of climbing gear, but still.

Hey! Don't forget, Joel always has competition on the brain. I bet I could beat the couple up the pass, when they were already a switchback or two ahead. I charged and beat the guy, and tied the woman to the pass. And I suffered greatly after that :) My poor heart and diaphragm :) Death is preferable to being showed up!
