Joel making his way up. At this point, things became a bit hectic and interest in photography was lost. As our pokey progress made it increasingly clear that chances of reaching the summit before dark were slim, we made the conservative and hopefully smart chance to bail. Being stuck on a wall of this size at this elevation at night is no joke: people have died of exposure in a single night before. So, instead with plenty of daylight remaining, we left gear and bailed back to the base of the route.

Well that's a bummer. Very glad you didn't stay and have major problems, but it's no fun to turn back. A quest for another day, I suppose!
