Jasper, Jon, Monica and I all converged on Cabo del San Jose on the afternoon of Friday, January 14. We rented a crew cab pickup, threw our camping supplies in the bed, and headed off down a dirt road in search of an off-the-grid hamlet within a national park known as Cabo Pulmo. Guided by moonlight, we found a deserted beach a few kilometers north of town and pitched our tents on a flat stretch of beach protected by a natural break of rocks and some sand dunes. Here, Monica sits in the tent, ready to bed down for the evening.
