Fifteen minutes later, success. Owed in large part to camera decoy (right). The cheap LED keychain that Monica gave me to attach to the camera was critical to locating the camera in deep dark water. Basically, I just chucked the camera in the water approximately where I thought it became disconnected from the strap. I waited a few minutes for the camera to settle at the bottom of the pool, then dove in after it. I swam down to the source of the light, and the camera was less than six inches away from the decoy. I wish the other missing camera search had been so easy!

  • So cool that that worked! I still have hope for the other one, even though I probably shouldn't.
