... and then took a picture of the waterfall, as planned. Sadly, this would be the last picture taken with this camera... a slide soon thereafter somehow sprung the latch on the battery/SIM card enclosure, allowing water into the system. Oh well - since we don't have photos to prove we did the rest of it, we'll have to go back.

Got it. I.e. the "mystery element" of no beta detracted from the experience for you on Tuesday? If we had done it Monday, it would have been everyone's least-favorite day for sure!!

I think I wouldn't have minded the no beta if I weren't worried about time. I was confident we could do the route before nightfall, but not before 2pm or whatever we'd hoped originally. So, same route, same no-beta, on Saturday would have been more fun to me.
