Catherine, at the top of her second lead climb (5.5) at Reimer's Ranch, about 45 minutes from Catherine's house, due west of Austin. A very impressive collection of sport climbs for its proximity to a major metropolitan area. Much like gym climbing, but outdoors, and used year-round which maybe explains why Austin does not have very many indoor rock gyms. The tops of the routes have clippable steel quick links, like at climbing gyms, so no need to untie, thread a rope and rappel: simply clip the links like quick draws, and pull the rope through when you are done.
