We came to a branch in the canyon (it seems canyons do not split, only join) so one direction led uphill. We decided to follow it to see how far we could take it. We basically got all the way to the head of the canyon where it would have been a 20-25 foot climb to reach the surface. The easiest way was in a narrow slot filled with muck and hairy armpit spiderballs, so we left it at that.
