Having dropped our packs at camp, our plan was to hike up above Neon Canyon for as long and far as we can possibly stand before we are convinced we are going to fall over on our noses from heat exhaustion, at which point we are to find a suitable rock, tree or other anchor and rappel into the slot and then hike downstream.
