The AZ side of the new bridge. The current road over the dam will end in a circle; people can still drive over the dam, but have to retrace their steps to join the main road. Which doesn't make a lot of sense, as there is a very logical junction with the new bridge about 1 mile east.

It would reduce the number of people on the dam to those who are there TO SEE the dam, as opposed to just cross it. I would think this would make for a much safer place for people to scamper around, then a 2-lane road with people zipping along wanting to get to Vegas interacting with those wanting to gape at the bridge, the dam, the lake...

I was thinking that the "old road" over the dam should have been left as was (not dead-ended into a circle) and then rejoin the new road after the new bridge. Most people would take new bridge; sightseers etc would take the old.

See, but now "most people" = "everybody who isn't a sightseer". The only people on the dam will be sightseers.
